The Story

THE BEGINNINGS
My career as a songwriter was born with the contribution of my parents: my mother pianist and my father curious music researcher; at twelve it was my father who proposed me "Le plat pays" by Jaques Brel, I think it was after that listening that I decided to become a songwriter. My second teacher was Fabrizio de André, but my musical beginnings were blues / rock / pop and during the 70s / 80s, I played and sang in various groups. I graduated in Psychology from the University of Padua in 1978 with a thesis in music therapy. In the mid-seventies I started composing songs.

THE PAST
The discovery of Native American culture and the confrontation with that people were fundamental events in my life. Francis Mitchell, sacred man of the Navajo Nation, and Sara Smith, great mother of the Moawk Nation, in 2001, commissioned me to meet the spirits of my land and my ancestors. I did not have clarity on the way to go, but in 2008 following a serious illness, I understood the meaning of the path indicated by the Native Americans masters: "The roots of a person and a people are in their language, in the language of the ancestors; my ancestors were Occitan, I will translate my songs into Occitan". So the project "Perlas de Veire" and my own Occitan way, were born. "Ma via s'estend, magic serpent*", represents a journey in the territory but also in the seasons, in the interiority, in the tradition of the ancestors, in my past.
The rhythms of pop music, rock, blues and electronic experiences, meet and blend with medieval and renaissance memories, along the bridge that connects the music of the Provencal troubadours, the first songwriters in history, to melodies of our time through the sounds and instruments of tradition.
An itinerary that winds from childhood to maturity through archetypes, places, events, magical or dramatic moments; meetings with women, men, children and old people.

PRESENT AND FUTURE
In the latter period I have decided to resume production of songs in Italian to be associated with the songs in Occitan. I will continue to propose the Tribute to Fabrizio De Andrè and I wish relaunch a concert that I presented many years ago:
